Welcome!
MS Society volunteers are the backbone of our organization. They are active and vital partners in fulfilling our mission to find a cure and enhance quality of life. Volunteers enhance the services of the MS Society by:

  • Keeping the organization accountable to its mission
  • Providing a wide variety of ideas, skills, and experiences
  • Acting as ambassadors by increasing public awareness of MS
  • Enriching the community perspective of the Society

The MS Society of Canada has over 100,000 event, board, and service volunteers. Join our team of fantastic volunteers today — start by checking out our volunteer opportunities listed below...

Volunteer Opportunities
Interested in volunteering? Well, here's your chance to get involved with a great organization! There are four different volunteer opportunity areas from which to choose from: Leadership, Administration, Programs and Services, and Fundraising/Events.

Volunteer Application Form (PDF)

Leadership Volunteers

These individuals hold high-level positions within the Society and devote a great deal of time and energy into the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the Society. As well, these volunteers create a strong and consistent awareness and message of MS and the MS Society.

  • Alberta Division and Chapter Board Members
  • MS 150 Bike Tour Committee Members
  • Super Cities WALK Committee Members
  • MS Ambassadors
Administrative/Office Volunteers

Administrative volunteers are organized individuals who enjoy working with a team. By joining the Office volunteer team these volunteers have the opportunity to see all sides of the MS Society. Plus, they work closely with the Division and Chapter staff and other volunteers, meeting many friendly new people.

  • Clerical duties including word processing, data entry, and mail-outs
  • Reception - answering phones, using switchboard
  • Fundraising Assistance - envelope labeling and stuffing, event registration
Program/Client Services Volunteers

As a nonprofit agency, everything we do relies on the energy and expertise of volunteers. Our program and client services volunteers assist with many roles from recreation programs, to MS Presentations, and peer support groups. Volunteers are needed to visit those clients in continuing care centres who are unable to come to the programs offered at the Society office.

  • Recreation programs and special events
  • Peer Support Groups
  • Friendly Visitation Program (Training provided)
Fundraising/Event Volunteers

The MS Society is the only organization in Canada to fund research and provide support to those with MS and their families. By being a part of our fundraising events, volunteers make a difference in the life of someone with MS.
