Support the MS Society’s Campaign for Income Security

Help gain secure incomes for people affected by MS

Ask your Member of Parliament to champion our proposals!

AdvocatingThe MS Society of Canada is asking the federal government for policy changes that would allow more people with MS to stay at work and remain part of their communities. These modest improvements would help people affected by MS, their families and caregivers gain the income they must have to cover essential needs. MS is an expensive disease. Many people with MS are no longer able to work and family members who are caregivers often have to cut back on their own jobs to provide needed care.

Add your voice to the campaign – send a message of support to your federal MP.

The MS Society is asking the federal government for three modest, but important changes to current programs:

  • Make Employment Insurance sickness benefits more flexible to allow people to work part-time and receive partial benefits.

  • Make the Disability Tax Credit a refundable benefit.

  • Allow spouses to claim the Caregiver Tax Credit – right now this isn’t allowed.

Learn more about these key steps to help people with MS gain secure incomes.

Please send a message to your MP now!

Your voice will make a difference.
