The MS Society has become a partner with the
End Exclusion campaign which has been developed to tackle the
exclusion of Canadians with disabilities. The
campaign is to mark the 25th anniversary of the International
Year of Disabled Persons and the release of Obstacles, the first
Parliamentary report on disability and the 10th anniversary of Equal
Citizenship for Canadians with Disabilities: The Will to Act,
the report by the task force headed by MP Andy Scott. Over the
coming weeks, the goal is to build public and political momentum
for governments at all levels to increase the investment of disability
supports and address poverty and exclusion of Canadians with
disabilities. The campaign will culminate in an End Exclusion
forum in Ottawa on November 2. End Exclusion was developed with
the leadership of the Council of Canadians with Disabilities
and the Canadian Association for Community Living.
