NEW AT THE MANITOBA DIVISION

New Programs on Progressive Forms of MS

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Manitoba Division is introducing two unique educational programs on progressive forms of MS. People with progressive forms of MS and their caregivers will be able to gain up-to-date and relevant information on progressive MS, treatments, care, and research.

Program 1    Primary-Progressive MS
Primary-progressive MS begins as a progressive disease without attacks and is usually diagnosed between the ages of 40 and 60, affecting both men and women equally. Individuals diagnosed at this stage of their life will be developing their knowledge, coping strategies, and resources to effectively manage living with MS.

This program runs for four sessions from 1:00 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.on Wednesday, April 11, Monday, April 16, Wednesday, May 2 and Monday, May 7.

Program 2    Secondary-Progressive MS
Secondary-progressive MS begins with a relapsing-remitting course followed by progression at a variable rate. Individuals that have already been managing relapsing-remitting MS will enhance their knowledge, coping strategies, and resources to effectively manage the transition.

This program runs for three sessions from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.on Monday, May 14, Tuesday, May 22, Mondays, May 28 and June 4.
