COMING SOON!

The MS Read-A-Thon is launching a new website with a cool new look with games for kids, resources for parents and classroom activities and tools for teachers!

The new site will be ready soon. Come back to msreadathon.com on September 15th to check it out!

Wow! Another MS Read-A-Thon is all wrapped up and the results are in!

This year 588 students in 22 schools across Manitoba raised $26,415 and read over 300,600 minutes!

A big thank you to all the students who participated and to the teachers who generously donated their time to the MS Society's effort! Your hard work helps the Society sustain the services we provide to people living with MS, improving their quality of life, and to find a cure for the often debilitating disease.

This year's top reading school is École Dugald reading 73,048 minutes!

This year's top fundraising school is Winkler Elementary School raising $4,834.48!

If you would like to read the Manitoba Division MS Read-A-Thon newsletter "The Bookworm News," click here!

Participating schools' "Thank you Awards" are in the mail and should be arriving at your school soon.

If you are interested in registering for next year's MS Read-A-Thon, please stay tuned for our Spring Flyer arriving at your school this May and for the 2009 on-line registration form.

Thank you to all of our sponsors who helped to make our 30th anniversary a special celebration.

Thank you again for an incredible season! See you next year!

About the MS Read-A-Thon...

It's Fun!
It's Educational!

It's for a Great Cause!
Students and teachers love the MS Read-A-Thon!
The MS Society's Read-A-Thon program is an annual fundraiser that encourages students to read through an exciting incentive program. Students attend a 30 to 45 minute presentation describing the program at their school, giving some basic information about multiple sclerosis and its effects, and highlighting the importance of literacy.

I would like more information.

Just three weeks: Students then embark on a three-week (timing is negotiable) reading program in school and/or at home. They collect pledges from family and friends for the books they read and become eligible for a variety of great rewards. Parents and teachers have found that the MS Read-A-Thon program stimulates young people's interest in reading and that they have renewed interest in reading, even after the program is completed.

Endorsed: The MS Read-A-Thon is endorsed by the Canadian Library Association and the Literacy Partners of Manitoba. It encourages young people to read and enjoy books of their own choosing.

Money raised through this motivating program supports research, services and programs for people living with multiple sclerosis.

To register for the MS Read-A-Thon or for more information, email MS Read-A-Thon.
