About the MS Read-A-Thon...
It's Fun!
It's Educational!
It's for a Great Cause!
Students and teachers love the MS Read-A-Thon!
The
MS Society's Read-A-Thon program is an annual fundraiser that
encourages students to read through an exciting incentive program.
Students attend a 30 to 45 minute presentation describing the
program at their school, giving some basic information about
multiple sclerosis and its effects, and highlighting the importance
of literacy.
I would like more information.
Just three weeks: Students then embark on a three-week (timing is negotiable) reading program in school and/or at home. They collect pledges from family and friends for the books they read and become eligible for a variety of great rewards. Parents and teachers have found that the MS Read-A-Thon program stimulates young people's interest in reading and that they have renewed interest in reading, even after the program is completed.
Endorsed: The MS Read-A-Thon is endorsed by the Canadian Library Association and the Literacy Partners of Manitoba. It encourages young people to read and enjoy books of their own choosing.
Money raised through this motivating program supports research, services and programs for people living with multiple sclerosis.
