MS Carnation Campaign

MS Carnation Campaign a blooming success
Communities across Ontario – and throughout Canada – were in bloom just prior to Mother’s Day as the 32nd annual MS Carnation Campaign used the power of the flower to raise funds for and awareness about multiple sclerosis. The campaign featured the sale of bouquets and plants in shopping centres, office buildings, and other public spaces, as volunteers encouraged the public to support “Mom” and the MS Society at the same time.
The MS Carnation Campaign raises more than $1 million across Canada, including approximately $600,000 in Ontario. Proceeds fund research into the cause and cure of multiple sclerosis, as well as provide services to people with MS and their families.
Held in conjunction with MS Awareness Month, the MS Carnation Campaign has raised more than $45 million since its inception in 1976. The campaign’s timing just before Mother’s Day is particularly appropriate since multiple sclerosis is diagnosed in women three times as often as men. Many people living with MS are mothers, and this unpredictable, often disabling disease affects entire families.
The MS Society thanks everyone who supported the campaign by selling flowers, hosting a sale, or buying a bouquet. Everybody loves flowers and every flower makes a difference!
Thank
you for your support!
